This message has been edited by RADCAT RICH on 04-20-2004 at 03:49 PM Al Hope this helps.. ------------------RADCAT RICH we are all getting virus's being sent to us from people that are not POA members and sending us all emails USING EXISTING POA MEMBERS EMAILS ADDRESSES.
> This week i got one from cnote, genotex,prowlerjunky,waynew........NONE OF THESE WERE FROM LEGIT MEMBERS..........WHAT CAN WE DO PLEASE????Al's Prowler Why not just remove your e-mail address from your profile? RADCAT RICH I was hoping not to have to do that, why cant we have the profile protected by our password? DUSTI Good point Radcat Rich !! Got 4 contaminated emails myself and that's ONLY TODAY ! DRFoster You could always buy a Mac! For the most part, they're immune to the viruses going around. In fact, the most virus like stuff for Macs tends to be the virus protection programs themselves. prwlyn Rich, it isn't your e-mail address protection here, it is the fact that the virus hits another member and if he has ever e-mailed you before, it sends it out to all addresses in that members address book on his computer. Most of the viruses we deal with in our 95,000 workstations at my company deal with Microsoft Outlook and they come in and then check your address book and e-mails out messages to everyone in that book. A couple of things you can do is to apply all the Microsoft Security patches to your system and use a good virus scanner, I happen to use Norton Anti-Virus 2004 protection and have it scanning my e-mail both In coming & Out going. That usually stops your mail from sending out viruses also. It's a big problem as we get hits at least 5 or 6 times a week, if not more, somewhere in our world of offices.
